Robynne and I were married on the beautiful Hawaiian island of Kauai on May 23rd, 1997. Robynne looked absolutely beautiful!
As you could probably imagine it was quite a casual event. Pastor Kilbourn did a wonderful job with the ceremony, he even gave us back the rings!
We loved the setting - a craggy part of the south coast in a town called Poipu. The surf was alive with sea turtles - too elusive to be captured on film. Despite the incredible surroundings, were quite relieved when it was all over. A dazzling rainbow appeared as the ceremony ended, which we took to be an omen of good luck!
Our travel companions Karen and Trevor didn't know we were getting married until we all met in Hawaii. Karen ran right out and bought formal attire, and Trev signed the marriage certificate 'Prince Charles'! A splendid time was had by all.
Amazingly, after the ceremony Pastor Kilbourn said, "You probably didn't know I'm also the local law, and I'll have to write you a ticket for marrying in a 'No Marrying' zone." At this point, I never needed a beer more in my life! Thankfully, I was back to my old self in no time!
